I see this boat a couple times a season cruising in Long Island Sound. RIP.

Is that speed estimate accurate? I would have thought that a canopied boat would have provided more protection at 100 mph

He sure was. The swarm of people at the hospital was unbelievable. We are all shocked. Its such a shame, he was the best. I'm going to miss his always smiling face.

I saw on the local news that another racer said it was more like 150-160.

I thought Aero Express was in Cat lite(525's) which would mean 90-100 around a turn sounds about right. In any case, it doesn't matter how fast he was going. Lives were lost and the worst thing that could have happened, did. RIP.

Deepest condolences from the entire HORBA community and the McCarthy family personally.

I have lost so many racing friends over the years, it doesn't get any easier, please know you are in our prayers.
