Strip Poker 388 08-31-2008 11:45 AM

I posted this on the other Gustav thread.

Last night I saw that most of the gas stations were out along the I 55 hwy jaskcon-Madison,I think the truck stops would have the largest supply.About 75 % of the cars on the I55 was from Louisiana. It looks like alot more people are leaving.

If anybody needs a place to stay we have room. Even if your passing thru, have problems, etc,Just PM me Ill give ya my cell.Where 5min from I-55 in Jackson,Ms,Its about 200m North of Biloxi.Hell we could even make it a Hurricane party:drink:

Besafe
Rob

H2Xmark 08-31-2008 12:17 PM

i'm staying put in beaumont tx, it looks like the most impact will be east of us. good luck everyone.
I do know they have rescue and FEMA in Beaumont at Ford park waiting to head into Louisiana after the storm

Bob280Silencer 08-31-2008 01:29 PM

I'm in MidCity New Orleans(City Park area)and I'm staying for this one.I'm on the "ridge" which is at sea level,so I'm pretty high considering every thing else around here. Not all of "those" people have left so I'd like to be around when the looting starts so I can be of assistance

JPD Motorsports 08-31-2008 02:08 PM

H2Xmark we have the Hoilday INN in Port Arthur, if you need anything look us up.

amarket1 08-31-2008 02:39 PM

Bob please be safe but it looks like it is weakning a bit so we may be ok. Hope that continues.

Good Luck to all

I just spoke to Thunderstruck (Tom Gurley) and he and his family left lake Charles and are safely in Birmingham set to ride out the storm. Best wishes to all and be safe.

Bob

Thunderstruck 08-31-2008 07:40 PM

Hey guys thanks for checking on us. We left Lake Charles at 7:30 pm Saturday for B'Ham to come see our daughter in college here and evacuate. Got into town at 4:30 am, left the dogs at a kennel and checked into the Doubletree. Watching and waiting now.

Had to leave Thunderstruck in Lake Charles, but what the heck it IS an Active Thunder, right Sydwayz???

DirtyMoney 08-31-2008 07:58 PM

Where is Jassman?

rockstrmkr 08-31-2008 08:57 PM

Gustav

This one is pushing a ton of water.
Here on Marco Island the water crested over the seawalls all over the Island at high tide today...That did not happen with Wilma, Charlie, or any other storm since I moved here.
Be safe everyone!!!!

Sydwayz 08-31-2008 09:01 PM

Godspeed to everyone, including our friends Jeff, Sandy, Tom, Leslie, Vu, and beyond. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Some may remember, but there were a couple of board members who were killed in a bad car accident while fleeing hurricane Rita (IIRC).

I've got room for at least one inside here in Virginia, maybe two if pressed. All you need to do is holler.

long duck dong 08-31-2008 09:12 PM

I'm roughly 50 miles northeast of Birmingham, Alabama.....We have room for a small (5-6 person) family and can accomidate indoor boat storage (up to 35') if needed....

Please stay safe down there...I left the Lakefront area without thinking twice.

Looters suck. Having the national guard housed in your apartment without your knowledge was even worse.

AB From Windsor 08-31-2008 09:59 PM

Praying for all OSO members, their families and everyone who is in the line of Hurricane Gustav.

My parents decided to ride it out in Baton Rouge with my brothers in-laws.
Looks like Gustav is weakening and they want to get back to the house as soon as the water goes down. They were worried about not being able to get back in after the storm. Good luck to everyone.

crazy!

AB From Windsor 09-01-2008 06:56 AM

That was something to see. Hope that it isn't as bad as predicted and loses strength and no one gets hurt or killed.

Thunderstruck 09-01-2008 09:08 AM

I talked to Jeff Jassby yesterday. He was making preps and was going to stay with his mother in Diamondhead. Obviously he was concerned after getting 12 ft of water in his house during Katrina.

Macklin 09-01-2008 09:35 AM

Godspeed to all of you down there!

Watching the weather channel now. 60 mph gusts, but lots of water!

Be safe!

marineclean 09-01-2008 02:54 PM

AJ is good!! but without power and a few trees down. Sounds like everyone is doing pretty good so far.

They have no idea Patrick. If I hear anything I let you know.

Thunderstruck 09-01-2008 03:48 PM

Just talked to Sandy Jassby. Like Donnie said looks like the Jassby's caught a break. They certainly deserve one.

We got hit pretty hard where I leave in between new orleans and baton rouge. The stom took the roof off my shop at my house and my wifes hair salon witch is at my house also. Were out of power and they are saying we will be out for a couple weeks. My Lube shop in baton rouge did good during the storm just no power yet. Heres a few pics of my place.
