I had a DCB Mach 22 cat with one of the 1st 377 Scorpion/Whipple packages about 5 yrs ago for a couple months and then sold it to a friend who has run it for 5 trouble free seasons, I'd be leery of running a blower on a stock 6.2/320 hp Merc though, right at 20 hrs on my 292 Formula the port motor pitched 2 rods into the bilge! What a mess,,,common problem on 6.2s I'm told

I may have misunderstood the application here. If we are talking about the Merc Racing Scorpion engine, yes it has forged pistons, rods and crankshaft and it should be strong enough for some supercharging. Just be careful to get a good system like the Whipple and the associated reprogramming and dial in on the ECM and fuel system to prevent a burn down under boost. This supercharging will still shorten engine hour life and it may hurt resale on the boat if you plan on reselling it in the future. Most general performance boaters have a resonable based fear of supercharged engines on purchasing used boats equipped with same. Just some extra thought here, look be fore you leap.

Yes Jayhawk261, I talk and work regularly with Trey and John at Mahle. Rings lots of good bells! We have been working with them for many years now and they build all the beautiful forged pistons we have designed with them for the 496 engine and even our new LSM550 engines.

Trey and all the guys at Mahle are great people to work with and their products are without question the finest in the marketplace!

That was about 15 boats ago! No pics but I bet Dustin @ Whipple has some,, Blower was painted Mercury Racing Blue to match the engine, I bought the boat with the supercharger allready installed so I cant give you before and after gains, but the boat ran solid low to mid 90's and idled like a stock engine, excellent mid-range hit and was a gas to drive,,,wish I still had it!

DCB 35 with 1075s................................. Now that must be one interesting play toy, I bet!! The only cats I have run is a 25 Motion with 2,5 EFIs and a few Nortechs. I guess your boat is a little wilder :-) I am dreaming of 1075s day and night these days. Ohhhhh, I wish I had two of those. Are you happy with them? I have driven 850s in an Outerlimits one time. For some reason or the other, I felt they did not have the right top rpm response, but I guess the 1075 SCI i the "real thing"?

For the love of V8s and powerboats!!

Steve
These were off of a 30 Motion that was shipped to Europe (not the Scorpion boat), they were removed for CE certification and kept in the crates.
