Shut off the fuel shut off valves. Then they get your boat are drive away, but a minute or less later, they have a big poblem and can't understand why.....

Insurance may or may not cover you. My poilcy with Markel states you are not coverd unless the boat is locked in a secuire area. I was told they a lot of stolen parts issues in parking lots.

I leave the boat in the water at hotels several times per year. I typically take keys and electronics out that are easy and put a cable thru the dock cleat and the boat. Sure , they could just unbolt it and drive away but slows the guy up just bit and I figure sometimes that is all it takes. I have a friend that was staying on Lake Lanier and somebody untied the boat and just sorta shoved it across the finger and he had to go swim for it. Like any theft though, if they want it, they will get it, you can just slow the lazy ones down.

If there is a leak or anything the bilge pumps will not run and instead of a stolen boat, you have a sunk boat.
