No. My involvement with IROC was through 12/31/79. I moved to the Indy team in 1980. I visited the shop in Tinton Falls a number of times until it closed for good this spring. Although the Indy race team itself relocated to Mooresville, NC in 2006, I have remained in Reading, PA to run another operation that we started in 1999.

Congratulations Chuck...you deserve it. I have enjoyed meeting you and reading your posts over the years. For the record the rumors about you and me disagreeing are greatly exagerrated....with the single exception of "Lawn darts". :D

P.S....Do you have anything to do with Penske Logistics?

WOW that is great!

Meeting Roger at the Milwaukee Mile was a highlight of my adventures. It was a few days after Al jr, won the Indy...93..94 (?). Selling Detroit Diesel Engines for Peterbilt at the time and was invited down to a private tour of the action. Roger pulled side covers off Al's car, explained some of the general stuff, etc. Spent about 35 min with our small group of 6. Very classy guy. I do remember Al jr walking into our tour, he saw us and darted into a trailer. Probably sick of talking to the public, not a big deal. You're a lucky guy!

The yacht has (unfortunately) been sold. That monster ran just under 40 mph. Interesting what you can do with 13,000 hp.

When he had the "smaller" 115-footer in 1994, I made a deal with him for 3 days charter for free if we won the Indy 500 or the CART championship. When we won both, he gave me 10 days. I added four good friends to the guest list and we had the experience of a lifetime, some of which I actually remember. Of course, we got our azzes handed to us during the 1995 season, but that's another topic....

I always said that as long as my boat was longer (38') than his was wide (33' beam), I would be happy. I think that my pair of 600's have slightly less power than the gensets on the Detroit Eagle did...

Hey, Chuck....

I've been fooling them for 58 years. You are safe for a few more.....

Happy Anniversary!
