Dustin,

I started out hot rodding Big Block Mopars! Those babys look sweet!!!

cobra marty 03-06-2002 08:11 PM

Nice, better keep them under lock and key. There was a picture on a cover of a mag. last year of ypur motor--beautiful. How about a poster size picture of that motor with the dyno sheet. You shop owners get all the cool stuff. What drives are you going to try and destroy with them babies? Way too cool!!

These are the 528 crate engines that us and Mopar worked together on, crate motor with Ross pistons, 7.5:1 compression, Crane Hydr. roller camshaft, inconel exhaust valves. They make a bit over 1200hp at 6200rpm, 14lbs. of boost. 1200lbs. of torque :D.

Running some of Imco's latest drives. Got them to idle at 775rpm so shifting will be fine. Going on a 28' Eliminator Daytona. The good news is that I can change the spark plugs easy :D! I've never done anything simple, you would think I would learn someday.

Thanks,
Dustin

It looks like you've got water cooled adapters between the heads and exhaust manifold. Were those off the shelf or did you make them.

It has always been Chevy blocks bolted up to Merc (and derivatives) drives. Other engines have always been a problem. How do you adapt those engines- are the adapters (bell-housing, flywheel, couplper, etc) a custom-built piece?

Whipple Charged 03-07-2002 12:44 PM

Gary,

The exhaust adapters were custom built.

The bell housing has a CNC billet piece that adapts it to the Chev pattern. The belt system, brackets, EFI, etc. is all custom made by us.

Thanks,
Dustin
