Default Bolivar Peninsula & Ike

I know you have heard about Ike coming thru Galveston & Houston. Bolivar Peninsula is just to the east of Galveston. This area just about got totally wiped out. I was wondering if my house was till there or how it survided. Yesterday I looked at the arial picture that was taken over the house and it looked like the completer roof was there. Well Today I got some pictures of the area. Here is the google maps link to the area.

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=e...=18&iwloc=addr

One picture is of the hwy. Just full of sand. In picture that all you see is just sand. If you compare to the Google map you woud be looking at about 30 homes. Hwy is on the left by power lines, gulf is on the left.

Forgot the best one. This is my house. The garage is gone, downstairs shower, and part of built in table. Rest of house almost looks like it did last week Thursday.

On City water and sewer. Only problem is I do not think there is a city now. They are not even giving us a clue when we can go out and see in person.

Looks like you did ok- even the stairway held.

What I find amazing about those shots is the lack of debris- everything has been washed away. I guess that will make the cleanup go a bit quicker. Good luck, brother.
