A lot of the time I pick it up at WalMart, other times at O'Reilys, AutoZone, Napa. Glad to hear the comment about how clean the engine was after 300 hrs of use.

My 292 has 530 hrs on a pair of 350 mags and use nothing but VR1 40W.

I had a relief spring in the oil pump crap out on starboard engine this year at 510hrs and while motor was out I took a look at the lower end and everything looked fantasic.

Cyl walls, rod and crank bearings all looked great. Just through a new set of rod and main bearings in since we were there anyway and put her back in and runs like a champ again.

I also change the oil every 30 hrs to so that might have something to do with it also.

The VR1 has higher levels of ZDDP wear additive which is very good for your flat tappet cams!

I use it with my 540s. Just change it every 15-20 hours.
