I have a real nice 2001 HTM SS-24 that runs OVER 120 GPS turn key for under 50k. It actually went 122.4 GPS hitting the limiter. tripple axle trailer with drive guard, etc etc

100mph bimini top? that ought to provide a little bit o lift!

Unitek 09-24-2008 04:15 PM

I know one guy who has gone well over 110 with it up. I cruised it up to 105 at lake cumberland with the top on, no problems. nice turn key boat :D

I just re read your first post and seen you are " NOT " interested in an HTM or Warlock. Sorry about that. Good luck with your search.

The picture of the Talon/Hustler is great, the American Offshore was splashed off the original Talon. AO is way cheaper with the same great ride. I am on the Atlantic Ocean off of Atlantic City every weekend with 3/4 footers all the time, and I am right there with the bigger V's. 2006, 525EFI, Sportie, all the right stuff under 60 hours all for $55,000.00

I've heard a lot of good stuff about the overall handling of the 26 American Offshore. That particular hull handles very well for it's size. Tres Martin had one for sale back in the spring (maybe still does?) He said it was set up real sweet.

Waterboy,

Extreme Marine in Newcastle has a smaller cat in their possesion. Never have stopped in to check it out but can if you want.

I have Liberator cats 18-30ft. All the ones I sell are outboards though.

I owned a 25 ft. Daytona for 8 years, had a ProCharged 454, and ran 95, mph. In my opinion, (and my wife's) it rode better then my new 292, Fastech. I miss my cat, and will be back in one as soon as I possibly can. I love Eliminators , but that AMT, with the small blocks sounds interesting.

I love my 27 Thor and it handles the rough great. Its a big boat for a 27 also.

I agree with you on a 26 American Offshore, there should be some good used ones out there, I have drove several of these back when Ed owned AO at speeds in excess of 115, the run like a drag boat on decent water

We just picked up the Nordic Lightning deck which has the same running surface as the Thor. Very shallow center pod compared to some of the other small cats and handles VERY well. Build quality is top notch as well. Really like the lines of the Thor but the deck boat version works better for the family. I figure now I have the best of both worlds.

blueamerican 09-25-2008 05:52 PM

You are right, Ed Ferro built my last American Offshore, and each one got better with the last one being the best...Unfortunately, I have to sell mine quickly...
