You know I rain on a lot of parades here about diesel boats, I try to say it as I know it.
BUT, this boat rocks, I wish you all the best, it's done like a diesel boat should be - very nice job!!!! I still think the gearing is too low but testing will tell you that. Again, I wish you the best - great effort, great looking boat - Good Luck!! Joe Gere |
Looks Great! Let us know how it runs! :ernaehrung004:

What inquiring minds want to know is:
HOW FAST WILL SHE GO???:drink: (When she's not on the trailer) |

HOW FAST WILL SHE GO???:drink: (When she's not on the trailer) she looks fast on the trailer. I did a 43 Nortech project, 480 Yanmars/ASD-8's which is a heavier-14500, longer-44'6" and she ran just under 75. I said earlier 78, Im going to bump it up to 81mph. I think the lighter over all weight, lower deck height, staggered motors and NXTs will help achieve a few extra mph. Hope I'm wrong and she runs in the mid 80's. Great project:cool:, Awesome graphics..Good Luck. Jeff |
Shueman nice looking boat , good lick with her!:drink:

WOW that is sweet on so many levels!
Nice work and as an owner of an oversized heavy boat I am very interested in how this thing does with the diesels.....I am not looking to go 60mph in my 15000 lb beast but it would be great to have the mileage, longevity, and torque to spin the arnesons better and increase my range so I can go to the abacos and back on a tank of good old USA diesel. Keep us posted |

Gary, do you know the weight and length vs the 480 hp Yanmar.. Are they relatively close...Also what rpms are you turning and who's multi-speed tranny are you using. Thanks Jeff

I may be wrong, but I think the 480 cummins is closer in size to he yanmar 6CX.
Any word yet on performance numbers? |
Very cool build,, can't wait to the see the performance ##'s

Boat was at X Site today... Played with a lot of different props... The best they found with the time allotted was 69.8mph on the revlimiter - 18 second hole shot - 17x37 5 blades. They said the boat pulled hard - quiet - no black smoke. Overall we are very very happy. They left with 17x39 5&6 blades... Now en route to Ft Lauderdale.

I want this project to suceed in the worse way because I think you guys put this together right and would like to see a diesel boat with outdrives in production that can challenge a gas boat. I think this project can do that.
So, not to beat this to death, too much pitch, not enough prop speed. If it pops on plane fast it's under wheeled for a diesel boat. Your pitch is already too big which means they are not turning fast enough. Less pitch more rpm's. Joe Gere |
