Dont some areas in Alaska have a huge tidal change? Something in the order of 25 or even 50 foot change? Not sure if this can be the cause or even if that area is where that happens. Even so, the Captain should know where the hell he is going. Maybe Joe Hazelwood is back at the helm!! :eek:

The boat used to be the Spirit of Nantucket, heard about those renaming curses.

That's what I was thinking. I'm sure the ship got stuck on a sand bar and the tide went out.

I was in Glacier Bay on 7/11 and it was gone. I think it must have just got stuck initially and then when the tide went out you know the rest, but it must have been able to continue on its own. No one up there was making a big stink about it. The tidal change up there is in the 25 foot range.
