Dont some areas in Alaska have a huge tidal change? Something in the order of 25 or even 50 foot change? Not sure if this can be the cause or even if that area is where that happens. Even so, the Captain should know where the hell he is going. Maybe Joe Hazelwood is back at the helm!!

That's what I was thinking. I'm sure the ship got stuck on a sand bar and the tide went out.

By the way, I love the rescue raft beached right next to it!
