I am not the set up man. I just like this run. You guys from long Island should roll down with a few of the posse. Frank you have a posse, and I have a few.

Me I have the 32 Skater, Jimmy has the 43 Nortech with 1200s, Tim 38 Scarab with 600s, Tom A 38 Donzi with 650s, we may have a few more. I think Jimmy and Tim will drive down from Manasquan if you guys want to meet them also on the way up. I am gonna use the ramp in Perth.

The Lake George Fun Run will go on Sat -Mon 11th-13th Columbus Day weekend ----with Sunday the 12th being the day we will BBQ on one of the islands(courtesy of Otis 311--$35 per head). We have no special permit because this is NOT a Poker Run and there will be normal speed limits in place. Next week Otis needs a head count. I am also understanding that we will be using the Municipal docks in the village.

Isn't that for the Southern portion of the Lake only?

Last year we ran well over 115-120...north of the islands...and there wasn't a soul in sight for miles it seemed.

JoeD 10-01-2008 03:00 PM

That maybe so, hopefully Otis will reply .
(Pro1 has never been to Lake George with his boat)

Come on guys....this thread isn't even about Lake George so lets keep it separate.

Joe, have fun up there! Dee told me she had some great times with you guys! I've never been up there by boat myself, maybe one of these days I will but for now it's jsut not possible.

Sounds good, if I can get the few things taken care of I need to I'll be there for sure.

I plan to ask Phil P if he would run with me.

Thanks,
Patrick

Perfect!!!

I think the E. River should not be used. The river is too narrow for 20-30 boats, plus if the kyakers are there they will get swamped!!!! Lets not even think about the CG and Police!!!

Just a thought!!

East River compared to the Harlem River??? Can't get to LaMotta's without going up one of them so are you suggesting we go somewhere else?

I'm always up for an ocean run though! ;)

Pro1 10-02-2008 09:58 AM

No instead of running up the hudson, hoping the bridge is open, we should just run up the East river and right up to Lamottas.

I understand what you're saying Kenny but Pure suggested the East River is too narrow.

The Harlem River (the open/closed bridge) is narrow, all the way down to where it meets the East River and Hells Gate. About 7 years ago some lunatic shot a gun at my buddies boat going down the Harlem River... :drink:

For what it's worth, I think running up the East River, through Hells Gate and into Long Island Sound and out to LaMottas is better than running up the Hudson and back down the Harlem etc..

So far I think I have 4 boats, maybe a 5th. :ernaehrung004:

I wonder if we should check in with LaMotta's ahead of time once we have a final boat count. :eureka:

Im going to try to bring 2 more plus my self....

How long is that run? And if heading up from S. Jersey near Philly where can I launch at and not get left behind. Not familiar with the area. My boat is only a 25' with a cruise speed between 45-50. With a 55 gal tank so I only have a range of about 80 miles and have some fuel to spare. Would like to come up and check it out though.

You could launch where Pro1 is going , Liberty landing in jersey city , atlantic highlands jersey . It can get a bit rough for a 25 crossing from jersey to the verrazano. If you launch at perth amboy , you can easily take the back around staten island. It's just like the upper delaware .

hunster 10-04-2008 08:17 AM

oh , from either of the 3 you'd have enough fuel , there is fuel on the water though.
