MARINE "Lo Jack"
Anyone have any suggestions on a good/reliable Marine GPS Tracking device for a client of mine in S. Florida? I want to recommend one to them that isn't overly expensive to purchase. I know that Sea Key was mentioned but their price (per their website) is around $2100.
I need a system that is around $500.00 - $600.00 that has basic tracking capability in the event that the boat is stolen....
Any suggestions?
Websites of a company would be great.

$ 1200.00 sounds awfully cheap for peace of mind ,and i would guess there premium would be discounted accordingly like Markel for inside storage,Alarmed, bigger deductables ..good luck

I purchased the Horiz tech system that was advertised here in the classifieds.....PM me for details.....very inexpensive for what you get, but the first version that I received, had some software issue. They did resolve them and it works well

...2100 not 1200... I am aware of the discount for having the system but to make a long story short... this acccount has not been an easy one and the last thing I need to do it have to go back to the owner and tell them that they HAVE to (by insurance company) install a $2100 system on their boat.... I am just looking for an inexpensive alternative.

yes you can use a product called GPSPursuit.
Give me a shout at [email protected] and I can fill you in.
It can be monitored from any computer in the world and is password protected. It can also be alrmed so if it goes outside a geofenced area (the last time it was shut off) it will automatically send you the alarm message. You know exactly when you boat is mobile without your authorization and you can track it on the internet. Just call the cops and let them grab it for you as you tell them where it is in real time.
Cool system. ( I used to sell them)

Try these. Awesome for the price. Does not have to be extensivly wired into the car / boat in this case. Monitoring service is cheap.

I use the GPS Pusuit unit referred to by Stinger 390X. I can check on its wherabouts anytime by logging on entering my password. It was about $700.00 + if I remember right. Also a monthly fee for monitoring. My insurer gave me a 10% discount that paid for the unit.
