Anybody hear if the locals are helping to search for Laurent Lemay? Help bring Laurent Lemay home, his family needs closure and your help. Keep us all posted.

young-gun 10-21-2008 11:27 PM

God bless

With both my experiences and this tragic incident...catamarans are inherently dangerous. Even my old Hobie Cat 16 catamaran sailboat has out me into a few dangerous situations. I'm now quite scared of cats.

Hard to understand the why in loss of life. Condolences to all family and friends...

I'm surprised I haven't heard anything. I would of thought that some local boaters and friends would still be searching for Laurent Lemay. If it were my friend or not I would be searching for him for his family. Let's hear something.

Thanks for the photo's, quite a bite of damage. Haven't heard anything on here, is anyone still looking for Laurent Lemay?

jeff32 10-23-2008 11:36 AM

nice find! Looking at some pictures, I'd guess he was knocked unconsious from the top port side of boat knocking probably right on the driver's (Laurent) head, then flipped ripping off the windshield...

That's just my guess...

jeff32 10-23-2008 11:38 AM

I heard because of water temp being so cold, he could probably get stucked at the bottom of water till next spring.

Body produces some gas that makes it float after a couple days, but does not produce this gas (or way less) in such cold water...

AB From Windsor 10-23-2008 11:50 AM

That is sad, can you imagine what the family is going through, waiting for him to be recovered and put to rest, properly. My heart goes out to the family.

Simfast 10-23-2008 12:26 PM

This morning, Laurent's wife told the media that she is still looking for him whit friends. It seem's that Laurent was going about 60MPH when the accident happened. Some one told me that Laurent's daugther told the police that one of the drives had broken...if you look at the picture of the boat on the trailer, you will see a broken horizontal bar that relays the drives...

We just went through the same situation. Please don't give up searching. After 5 days, the river gave Pat Reiter back to us. Believe me, I feel your pain and please accept my deepest condolences.

good to see some local new comer to this site! I hope more join the club. it is probably the only place where we can follow what is happening with this lost... many guys around here are asking me if I heard anymore ''good'' news about Laurent research, and unfortunatly, there are not too many places to keep us informed... So please mme target, feed this tread with any info when you have any, so we can all know what's going on, help if ever we can, and let everyone else know not if, but WHEN Laurent is found back.

our best toughts are with you again...

Anne-Marie Lemay 04-29-2009 11:05 PM

Laurent Lemay was found

Hello, this is Laurent's daughter. My dad's body was found on April 24th, well they guess it's his body. They found his wallet in his pockets so it should be. He will soon be identified with certainty. :(

Anne-Marie Lemay 05-03-2009 09:47 PM

Hey, it's me again. Thx for the links 25 hors la loi. I will keep you guys informed if there are further developments, and I will tell you where and when my father's ashes will be exposed when I know it. The identification is not 100% certain but it will be in about 2 weeks I guess. Also, I want you to know that Laurent was seriously injured after the accident, and I think that even with a floating device he wouldn't be alive. My father didn't want to put me at risk and I'm sure he thought he knew what he was doing that day (I was on the boat with him). But what happens when you drive those boats is out of your hands. I understand the thrill of driving them and I was really excited that day to go with my dad. Just remember to always live this day as if it was your last day, even more than everyone else.
