Default Some picts....

The 700 is different than the 450 class machines -

You are asking about a the suzy 400 which more like the 450 than the 700.

The 450 class machines- (like my kawi 450) are basically race bikes. the Yammie 450 as popular as it is late to market with new technology compared to others - (fuel injection/reverse/ aluminum frame) are only available this year on it whereas kawi, honda, and suzuki, and can am had these features years ago.

Even the raptor had injection and reverse 2 years ago whereas the 450 didnt.

I'll take the 700 for everyday riding and usability every time- especially when hills are concerned.

Ive included a 10 year old nostalgia picture of me & my buds on our modded banshees (Im the guy on the far right in blue) to illustrate I actually walk the walk on this.

Yeah true there is nothing like a banshee- but frankly- Ill still take the 700.

The new picts show our march camp at glamis and my girlfriend on the 700 (she felt confident even in the BIG dunes with it her first trip ever) and my kawi 450.

Speed wise the 450 kawi can pull a 700 full 2 lengths on the 700 with my fat azz on it and her on the raptor up oldsmobile hill, but thats full out and its a deceiving metric as regular riding the tables turn somewhat.

In 8/10nths riding the raptor is actually faster because you have 50% less shifting to do and you can often stay in one or 2 gears all day and just grunt your way up around and through things. its also waaay more comfortable than ANY 450 class machine.

Please- go look at my new Lavey in the Laveycraft forum!

I have been looking alot at the zuk 450, i ride a raptor 660 and have never been challenged by a 400. I would easily take the 700 over any 400

Well, guess I'll throw in a vote for the 400. I have an 04 dvx 400 (same as suzuki and kawasaki just better plastic). I would rather ride it around all day than my buddies raptors. For some reason the stock raptors just dont feel comfortable to me. Now I have ridden a few tricked out ones that I liked, but they had a bunch of money tied up in them. I like the relatively light weight of my machine, it jumps and lands well, and has all the power I need for trail riding. The reverse is great too. Gotta love watching your riding buddies trying to turn around their race machines in the woods with no reverse. My little 400 is nice and quiet too so I can ride around my property and not bother the neighbors. Now if your looking to ride dunes or something to that effect get something bigger. If your looking to race on a track get something different. If your looking for a fun trail machine its hard to beat the 400 for the price. I paid $5000 out the door for mine new, and they threw in a set of ramps and helmet. All my buddies on 450s shelled out over $7000, with no freebies. I've never had to do anything to mine except change the oil. I've been riding for 23 years and never thought I be on a fourstroke but they sure are nice.BTW - I've got a large collection of Kawasaki Tecate 3 and 4 wheelers for sale if anyones interested. I'm sure you'll enjoy whatever you end up with. good luck

I had 2003 Z400 and loved it. Compared to the 660 Raptors of the same year, I could run circles around them. We rode mostly in wooded trails and small tracks. My friend has a 450 Kawi. with a bunch of mods and it is an animal. I have not ran it against anything else so I can not compare to current year machines!

Default Really?

Guys the Outlander is a completely different type of bike.

The setup isn't REMOTELY like anything 288 is inquiring about.

You cant really be suggesting its a viable replacement for a 400 suz, or 700 raptor- are you?

Can Am's "DS" series maybe- the outlander? Come on, you cant be serious.

Was just kidding...

It's a totally diff. set-up that he was looking for...

Though, I just got rid of the DS 650's...

Excellent bikes, but too wide ifor trails less than 48"+ wide...

The 800 XT is fast, powerful and rides like a dream...

Has far more vesitility and utility...

Especially for big guys who are also trail "mileage" hounds...Like me...

Guess I'm just getting older...

anybody know anything about a ds 650 bombardier... it's a 2001 model. i ride more in open fields than on a trail.. so i'm more interested in speed, top speed, and acceleration.

I want a fancy new brute force or the outlander, but can't part with that much money for a 2,3, or 4th toy at the moment..

yes, it's an excellent machine...

Very fast, especially on the top end...

Very stable due to wide stance...

Again, I'm a big guy...at times Raptors and similar models may win hole shots...but I always run them down...

Love it on the dunes...Silver lake, Mich...

Only draw back...no reverse...

Not a problem if you are a proactive rider...

You will love it...regardless of price...
