I told him he needs to start cutting killer deals to all the northern guys to keep their boats down here. We go boat almost every weekend all winter. Stu from Fl Powerboat club puts on lots of fun runs.
He is going to set up a deal for all the northern guys to store their boats, have them in the water, full of fuel, full cooler with what ever you want waiting for you when you fly in, we go boating all weekend. When your done, you get out of the boat, leave it at the dock and go back to the airport. He flushes the motors, cleans it, covers it and put's it away until the next time you come to town.
Right now you can get flights for about $99 each way. isn't this a better soloution then letting the snow pile up on your boat while you sit on OSO reading about what I'm crashing into with mine!!

Who would be interested in this?? I would think it's worth it even if you came down once every 6 weeks. Summer dosen't need to be 8 months away!

Lube,

Refresh me on exactly what "winter" is and why anyone deals with it...

We don't have hurricanes over the winter. Hurricane season is June 1st to Nov 30th so i don't think it's an issue for this subject.

Been thinking about this quite a bit lately....it would be nice to come down and boat during the winter and have things taken care of....now I just need to get the boat finished and check with the insurance company to see what's involved in having it stored down in florida...

To heck with the boat you hiring?!!!! Its funny how are season is ending ( or should i say ended) 35 degrees this morning, and yours is getting ready to hit full speed. Must be great ! I gotta say there is nothing like getting on a plane in the dead of winter flying 3 hours and doing some boating for the weekend. Sounds like a great idea good luck!

The only reason I bring it up, is because Wilma came through a few days before the Lauderdale Boat Show. The Top Gun I had at the time was stored at TNT, and thankfully wasn't damaged. Obviously you guys know better than me the extent of the damage to MANY marinas and boats after that disaster, but I came down that Thursday anyway to see. Markel has made it pretty clear to me that they don't want my boat down there without me living there.
