Prayers needed
 

OSO bros and sisters, a special request here for your thoughts and prayers. My dad passed away at 6:45 yesterday morning and it is definitely much tougher than I thought it would be. It wasn't a surprise as he was 87 and had a lengthy battle with congestive heart failure, however, it is still not an easy pill to swallow. While we didn't have much in common due to our extreme age difference (43 years), he did have a huge influence on the way I live my life and how I treat others. A devout Catholic, he really lived life according to the Golden Rule.

Being born in 1921, this is a man that has seen many things in his lifetime. An honorably discharged WWII vet, he leaves behind an 81 year-old wife of 64 years who is a stroke victim with partial paralysis and is in the beginning stages of Alzheimer's. Helping my Mother cope with all of this has been the hardest part of it all. She has no idea where to go from here. They have been joined at the hip since he was 23 and she was 16. This will be a very trying time for my wife and I as we are both only children - No siblings to share this with. Please keep my family and I in your prayers as we move forward.

Very sorry to hear about the lose of your Dad. From what you have said about your Dad he was a wonderful father, husband and role model for you. Grieving is always hard and you will always think about all the good times and all the little things that you shared in life together with your dad and mother, it will help and heal the pain of his lose. Condolences on your lose and prayers for your mom. Your Dad will RIP knowing that he had accomplished his goal in life, to be a loving husband , father and role model.

Croozin' my thoughts and prayers are with you and your wife. My situation was similar to your's when my dad passed away very suddenly on Dec. 27 last year. I am an only child as well, with a large age difference between my parents and I. I still miss my Dad every day and struggle with coming to terms. I am sorry for your loss. My father committed suicide one year ago today. You and your wife must go through the grieving process. Time will heal your wounds. My prayers are with you and your family.

Im very sorry for your loss. Stay close to your mom, and help her every way that you can. My dad passed in Feb and both my parents were like your's, joined at the hip. 48 years of marriage. She has no urge to go on, and is in a deep depression. Today she fell again on her head while going to the bathroom. Blood everywhere, face looks like she went through a 12 round fight with Mike Tyson. All Im saying, its hard on you and family members, but will be extremely hard on your mom. Sorry for your loss, I've gone through a similar situation in my life,losing my Dad to a massive heart attack,at 60, and my Mom being in the grips of Alzheimers,at 75. Hang in there. There won't be a day that goes by that you will not think of your Dad.

Sorry for your loss,I loss my father in 2005 to cancer,and my mother on 3-19-08 to a rare syndrome.I'am lucky they are together and in a good place.I worked with both of them for 25 years and look at their empty office everyday.The hurt goes away but it still feels very strange.Take good care of your mother and are prayers are with you.

Sorry for your loss. I lossed my dad in 2005 and mother in 2006. It can be tough at times.

I lost my WW2 veteran father in 1990. My sister and I had to watch him deteriorate from lung cancer for four long, painful years.
