April Apba Race In Daytona
Who's planning on going to the race? FPC is having a Poker run on the Friday before the races. Usually run up the ICW to St. Augustine. Godd time :D I hope to be in Daytona on the Wed. before the race running around in the 41 if anyone else is going to be in town let me know we'll plan a little trip somewhere.
|
We certainly will be there and will be including the Poker Run with the lease for the race. Have 5 boats running in One Design already and 2 leases still available. Powerboat Magazine will be covering the lease. If anyone is interested in leasing for the race or poker run, or needs a hotel, give us a call. (513) 706-3199.

Hey Robert,
Won't be able to make it this year, We are going to try for next year, we heard its a good race to watch. I got a few friends that are going and they had a blast last year. Have fun!!!! Mark |
hey robert! i will be there again. should be another fun time! better warn all the intracoastal residents!!!
|
Hey Mark,
If ya'll can't make it in the spring there's always the one in the fall. I would say we should all get together and go to St. Augustine for lunch on Thurs., but I think that's where we'll go on Fri with Stu. |
hey robert. where else is there to go around there?? i can talk to billy and lisa. i think there is a sandbar the locals go to. maybe we could party there ??
|
Hey Russ
I'm not sure, I don't know what is south of Daytona, but I can call John Pompi and ask him. If the ocean's good we might be able to make it to Melborne and back in one day. |
Robert,
Are you comming up to Chicago this summer? And if you do are you bringing the 41. We missed you last year. Mark |
Yeap. Not sure when though. I am planning on bringing the 41 with me if I can find a place to put it in the water and leave for a few days. I think it's about a 11 hr tow up there, so that's no different than going to S. Fl. for the weekend. It looks like there is alot happening in the Daytona/ Jacksonville area this year and that's only a 6 hr tow. See ya'll soon :D
|
Hey Robert, Paul and Marsha from Key West will be there. We can come up a day or so early if you put something together. We sold the 33 scarab and ordered a new Top Gun TS, it should be out of the paint shop in about 10 days we can't wait!!! We'll see Ya in Daytona.
|
Hey Paul
Congrats on the new ride :D . Can't wait to see it. Looks like if we go south we'll have to go to Canaveral and come inside then take the ICW to Melbourne. I'm not sure if the Chart House is open for lunch but we can find out. But, I don't mind going to St. Augustine two days in a row either. Hell, if we get a bunch of hot rods together we're gonna go SOMEWHERE :D . I'll talk to Stu long before then and maybe he'll have some suggestions. There's always the party at Marine Performance, open house to show off the new shop. Should be a good time whatever we do :D . Bloody's in the morning anyone :p |
Medicine Man...
If you need a Marina in Meblourne, you can contact Intracoastal Marine, they can help if you need a slip for the nite. They also have a ramp and a fork lift or travel lift. They are about 2 miles north of the Chart House..... |
Thanks Xtreme, but I was hopeing to make this a day trip. You never know though when you're gonna need a slip for the night what ever the reason. I hope that we can all work something out and will be able to get together :) . SeeYa soon

Rob,
I'll be there, get in Wednesday and staying at the Hilton. I will probably do the run on Friday if I am not working the coarse. |
Hey Barkley
Look forward to it. I might be out on coarse with the guys from Marine Performance this year also. I'm trying to go down on Tues. SeeYa there RLT |
Hey Robert,
Let me know when your comming up to Chicago the Marina where I keep my boat has a travel lift and a ramp so you can put it in there and store the trailer there and then me or Pauly can show you the way downtown. This is where Michael kept the 41 last year. Mark |
Hey guys, good to hear that you are coming back up, err, or down for russ, If anyone needs anything in advance give me a shout. I am sure we can help some way, Pual cant wait to see the new ride. maybee you can fit me in for one quick outing on it???

Hey Kids
Yea it should be another good time. I was thinking about going south on Thurs for lunch. I talked to Marine Performance today and got a few places to think about. Canaveral inlet then south to Melbourne or stay in Canaveral. Or we could just goof off in Daytona. We'll all talk soon I'm sure. SeeYa soon. RLT |
Loosecannon, You and lisa are welcome on our boat anytime. Hope everything is good with you guys. We are really looking forward to comming up in april, since we had such a great time in Daytona last october.
See Ya soon, Paul & Marsha |
I was in Daytona last weekend for bikeweek and the water was huge. There is no way you guys are going to watch the race this time of year from your boats.

Hey Guys!
We're planning on being there. We had a great time last year. What a great place for a race. It's kind of hard to see the boats, sometimes, though! The swells just seem to swallow them up. :D :D From what I saw last year, I would never think of going out there to watch in my size boat. If I remember correctly last year, there were 9-12'ers. From last year: |

Great shot of YAHOO splitting the sheets.
The course this year will be four miles up the coast and should have better viewing for the fans. Wish I could go. |
Well the water is always big this time of year, but we made it out there last year, hell, i saw a 17 foot boston whaler out there last time.
I am going to take off thursday and friday too, as I am sure that there will be lots of boaters in town to have some fun with. I will have to check with my unemployed better half, maybe we can carpool those days. there are some great places to eat at the canaveral inlet. Rustys comes to mind, its a hooters type of resturaunt for sea food. very long ride down there especialy if its rough. I think i will leave the 22 on the trailer. Paul I cant wait to see that monster, you have to be going nuts without a boat, how many more days? |
Does anyone know how long it would take to go from Daytona to Jax by the Intracoastal? How about Ponte Vedra?
|
I would guess that it would take about 3-4 hours start to finish
|
Wild & I will be there. Would love to be in the poker run but Wilds' boat is in Ft. Lauderdale.
|
Poker face,
From vilano beach (st augustine) to jax is about 30 minutes by ocean ( or less depending on speed and water conditions) on the ICW there is a 6 mile sretch between jax and st augustine that is no wake zone ( brutal in the summer ) count on another 1 1/2 to 2 hrs to ponce inlet depending on ocean or ICW. there are a lot of no wake zones on the ICW. Hope that helps. |
PokerFace
At least four hours, I did it two years ago from Jax to Daytona and it took us about that long. It's a pretty scenic ride though. One thing that is hard to find in Daytona is 93 octane fuel. I usually fill up on the trailer before the boat goes in the water. I can arrange for a fuel truck if enough people need to get fuel. Sounds like a lot of people are going to be in town, should be a good time. Anytime Billy :) . |
Hey guys we are supposed to pick up the new ride tuesday morning at 9:00A.M. hopefully cigarette will have it ready. So far they have lived up to everything they have promised, actually it has been a great experience working with them. I have tried to post a picture of the boat but it tells me the picture is to wide and I don't have a clue on how to make it smaller. Any ideas?
|
yeah the picture is too big because the boat is too long.
give me that new one and you can have mine. that way when you want to post picture of it it wont take up so much space. see, problem solved! |
Thanks for the help guys....I guess a day trip for lunch is out....oh well
