the word "Nasty" now refers to "extremely cool".

Its new-age talk ... kind of like "bad" or "sick" .

AB From Windsor 11-03-2008 01:57 PM

Is that the same person that owned the "Man of Steel" Skater?

Yes, Barry Zekelman, Detroit Steelman.

[Edited to correct name]

Yes, that Skater is actually also a Zuperman boat.

You are correct, my bad.

I saw this bad boy idling off Lake St. Clair into the canal and went to take a peek while it was sitting on it's lift yesterday. The thing is UNREAL! Highest quality paint I have ever seen on a boat. Can't wait to see it REALLY moving out there! BTW, the hull is a full carbon 50' Mystic Powerboat.

The hull is a Full Carbon 50' Outerlimits. Not Mystic

BLee 07-27-2009 09:42 AM

It's an Outerlimits:

I believe that's the guy. Executive or principal in a big steel company I believe, thus the theme on his boats.

tblrklakemo 07-27-2009 10:48 AM

So can you do a conventional ramp launch with that mofo, or do you need a crane?

animalhouse 07-27-2009 10:52 AM

If you choose, you can launch at a ramp. The trailer has wheels that will come up and support the tunnel to assist in loading / unloading the boat.

OL40SVX 07-27-2009 11:07 AM

Anyone know if he'll be doing the 1000 Islands poker run with it?

Him and his brother sold it to the Ruskies for Billions of bucks. Barry inherited the business at the age of 19 following the death of his father. I forget the rest of the story but congrats to him and he seems to deserve every thing he has and more.

Old article about his boats:

AIR TIME 07-27-2009 04:26 PM

sweet looking boat and turbines are the balls, you just need head sets to hear and talk:evilb: art

AB From Windsor 07-27-2009 05:01 PM

Seen his boat behind his house on Lake St. Clair on a new lift, with a roof over it and it was being landscaped at the time. Took some pic's but they didn't turn out very good, infact the pictures on here of the boat are great. Haven't seen the boat on the water yet and have asked some of my friends and they haven't seen it out yet either. I would think that he would be at the 1000 Islands Poker Run.

DAYUM! That video gave me goosebumps!

Classic S/T too!

CDNUGE 07-31-2009 08:25 AM

My bad... it is an Outerlimits, not a Mystic.

Call me Monday, I would like for you to come take a peak. There are three Cats in various stages of production that would be beneficial to see.

Fred

Mike and Paul will be in Town until Thursday before they head to Sweden, so if you can come early in the week.

It's boats like zuperman that real draw attention to the sport. Amazing detail, amazing rigging, amazing speed! What a tribute to the technology and skill involved in putting a boat like this together. My hats off to all involved. Truley a showcase to the sport.

Twin-Kyle 08-04-2009 07:45 AM

He had it out on the Lake St.Clair last Sun. It is something to see. He was running between Puce and Belle River. Let it go a couple of times running somewhere around the 160 mark if I were to guess.

Jassman 08-04-2009 08:02 AM

article on this boat and the owner in this months Yachting Magazine.. Interesting.

Where about is this place located?

AB From Windsor 08-04-2009 09:13 AM

It is on Pike Creek on Lake St. Clair. You will see a large white house on on the Southeast corner of Pike Creek. Just drive down Pike Creek about 300-400 ft. and you'll see a new boat house on your left. Pike Creek is about 1-2 miles west of the Sandbar Grill on the Puce River. When entering Pike Creek come straight in from the lake on idle as it is shallow, stay in the canal when entering and don't hammer it till you get out into deeper water. Let me know how you made out and what you thought if you see it.
