Notice the Herring truck on the spot, ready to fix any prop issues.

Here's a closer shot of the trailer.

I towed the prop stop boat about 20,000 miles and I really enjoyed the pintle hitch set up with the electric brakes.....no slamming u in the arse to get the brakes engaged..

electric over hydrallics for me from here on out.....

It COULD be that the surge brake system had a failure. Remember that Surge Brakes only work effectively if the truck and trailer are in a straight line. The pics are too small to tell for sure, but the surge brake coupler looks to be turned around backwards, ripped off the tongue tube.

In general:
If you get into an evasive maneuver with SURGE brakes, its in your best interest to keep the truck and trailer straight and not turn the wheel; and hope you can stop in time. If you have to turn the wheel, you are better off getting off the brakes and trying to drive around your hazard.

Let me clarify my earlier post.

I in no way meant that Nor-Techs are prone to this. I was poking fun at the fact that someone asked if it was a coincidence and was being a wiseazz.

I love the Nor-Tech products and the entire staff. They do a great job. I mean have you seen the new 80'? Absolutely beautiful!

I had my Outerlimits "Wild Child" behind me going along that same area a few years back. 4 cars ahead of me, someone went to make a turn & chickened out at the last second. The three other cars slammed on the brakes (we were going around 50+ mph) and nearly rear ended eachother. I slammed on the brakes but quickly realizing I'd have to make some turns to avoid hitting them, I let off and went into the grass, across the intersection cross street, back onto the grass & back onto the main rd.
There was a cop sitting at the red light on the cross street that I barrelled across (a few feet from the cop). As I motored along, he came up to pass me & as he was even and we looked at eachother, he gave me a "WHEW" look as he wiped his forehead & kept on going.
