Default Fire sale question?

If you were going to (Fire Sale) a boat. What would you drop the price to? Say your original asking price was $150,000.

It's all relative....what's it actually worth market value/book value...and then other considerations such as, is there a loan on it?

I would look at same boat being sold..Boattrader etc. and then go 10k under the cheapest on the market but make sure you provide a lot of detailed info on ad that way no one thinks it's a salvage job, assuming it's not that

Fire sale on a boat, well here on OSO I just saw a 1998 35 Fountain with 500's go for 35K, SO be ready to take a beating. I can tell you some boats are selling much better than others? If you want a real advise on what youcanget for it post pics, condition, MFG, power, drives, and such.

your question cannot reasonably be answered unles we have facts on the boat.....too many variables, some boats sell better than others because they have a bigger market....so many things must be considered to get a true "market" value on a particular boat....once a true market value is established, then other factors need to be considered to come up with a "fire sale" value..............I guess to attempt to answer your question in a vacuum, I imagine a reasonable fire sale value would be the absolute minimum you would take for your boat to move it quickly in this market............

I listed a Bayliner at $150K....someone offered me $50K so I took it........the boat was only worth $30K. Just kidding but an example of what the above posts are telling you.

Put it on ebay, starting bid $1, no reserve. There's a donzi 38 on there right now like that. According to the ad, they are asking $199K for it. Bidding is at $150K.

I've got $15K cash, what are ya selling?
