Coast Guard Auxiliary hits and sinks boat
|
Small boat had right of way...but last rule is to do EVERYTHING to avoid a collision.
Guys like this, in both boats, really scare me. |
Brain dead idiots.

Wholly nut. Gee makes me want to sign up for one of those highly coveted coast guard aux boating safety classes, I could sure learn alot from them.

Nice mullet!
Small boat has his head up his ass and isnt aware of his surroundings. Coast Guard Aux is on some ego trip and would rather prove how important he is than avoid a collision. I think sometimes our egos get the best of us on the water and we go through an "I'm not moving, I was here first" kinda mindset. I know I catch myself doing it sometimes. But I try to keep remembering that its everybodys playground and theres no place for bullies, only common sense. |
As my dad used to tell me, it's good to be right, but it's not good to be dead right.

When i am out boating i always assume the other guy does not have a clue. And the Auxiliarys around here are 92 and just bought a Bayliner and are looking for something to do without a clue .

Its amazing how often crap like this happens with the coast guard.
Just because the are coast guard doesnt make them smart. I posted about a book I read on here recently called "dead men tapping" which is all about some botched coast guard rescues. There are times the coast guard is great and really saves your A$$, but man there are times when you see what they have done and you cant believe anyone there has any brains at all. People in general need to pay more atention when boating. It can be a pretty damn dangerous thing to do. I drag race as well and feel boating is actually more dangerous than racing at the track. |
