Kid Rock buying a house on St. Clair River?

I heard this morning on 89X that Kid Rock and Pam are buying a house in Algonac on the St. Clair River. No details except it's huge and has a 3,000 square ft. guest house. Not too shabby!

I wonder if we'll see him "rollin' Lake St. Clair in his 40 foot Donzi"...

Enticer Rick 03-12-2002 09:28 AM

Hey Freckles, had a really good time at the OSO gathering Saturday. It was really cool meeting all you guys. Hopefully we
can hang this summer. Any mention of a fun run? Maybe we need
to invite Kid Rock. I'm going to his concert Sunday at the Palace,
heard he puts on a good show.

Rick (Rico)

cashmoney 03-12-2002 09:41 AM

On his new CD he brags about "cruising lake St. Clair in his 40 ft. donzi"...I bet there will be a party following that guy...If they can keep up.

Lee 03-12-2002 09:42 AM

I was also at Gilberts on Saturday, But I did not meet you guys.
Maybe we should have name tags next time.

Advantage_Rob 03-12-2002 09:44 AM

That's gotta be right near the end of the north channel between deckers and sassy's, there's some monster houses right there, and there's only a few with guest houses so I think I know right where it's at. It's close to me, and I'm on the main road, so that means kid rock and pam will be driveing by my place all the time, and seeing my boat in front on the trailer, SWEET, a connection. Now we just gotta get them to come on the fun run's with us! That would be cool!!

BODYSHOT1 03-12-2002 09:49 AM

..two words..

Pammy Anderson!!!

:D:D

freckles 03-12-2002 10:14 AM

Rob, Thanks for putting it in perspective. For some reason, I was thinking further up the St. Clair river, but you're probably right. I've seen some of those houses too... OK, he's got the house, who's going to set him up with the boat?

Rico, we had fun too. No mention of a fun-run yet... Rob? Maybe throw out the idea of one a month, like the last Sunday of June, July and August... that way if you can't make one, there's another one coming up. Just my $.02.

Lee, Name tags!!! We needed that idea on Saturday! Next time... Gilberts was a good time, and it got us thinking about summer (and all the projects we still have to do on the boat).

Christine (& Bill272)

Gary864 03-12-2002 11:26 AM

I heard that rumor last summer. He looked at a house just north of the Algonac public access (not the DNR access) in Downtown algonac. The same area as the 4th of July Fireworks. The home is 7500 sq. ft. not including the guest house. It is still listed on the web as unsold.

Advantage_Rob 03-12-2002 11:32 AM

Pammy ANDERSON!!! (.)(.) Oh yeah baby!!!

One a month would be cool, I thought the informality of the whole thing was the best part, well besides the price, but we gotta do better on getting there by a set time. Last run we said 11:00 and we didn't leave till 12:30 or 1:00, not that it mattered, it was a blast with 30 boats rafted off at metro, checkin out each others rides. Summer's coming soon!!

Enticer Rick 03-12-2002 12:33 PM

How about a run on the last weekend of June Maybe the 29th or 30th? Be the man and set a date Rob!

freckles 03-12-2002 01:07 PM

Rob, I agree about the informality. That's what made it so much fun. We were first-timers and a little nervous at first, but felt comfortable by the time we rafted up and met everyone.

2 ideas:
-Have a social hour or happy hour before the official meeting time

-Meet and eat at a restaurant FIRST, then head out and run.

Rick, are you going to ask KR about his new home purchase when you see him at the concert? :p

MikeStar 03-12-2002 02:13 PM

I'm wondering if the house might not be on the river itself - lots of big homes on the run up to Port Huron...

Advantage_Rob 03-12-2002 02:19 PM

Scheuer10,
It's almost 4 months out, and alot can change between now and then, for everyone, so I'd rather wait till it's closer and we've really got the itch, afterall this isnt moca, we dont need to be formal and well planned, just ready to have fun, which I do every weekend like a good boater should!!

I'd like something sooner than the end of june. One a month sounds good still and the last weekend of the month is alot of weekends into the month, definitely could be sooner, but I like opinions, from everyone to attempt to accomidate everyone we can, for maximum attendance, and that's tough to do this early.

That house could be anywhere along the river, there's a ton of jawdropping houses along the river. When I was the lead patrol boat for the st clair races I was all over that area 2-3 miles either way and the mansions one after the other and down the river up on the banks one after the other, was amazing! It could be anywhere along any of this area.

MooseKnuckle 03-12-2002 02:20 PM

Let's have another OSO meeting in April (place on water would be nice) so people can come by boat and set a fun run date at that time.

As for Kid Rock, maybe we can get him to play at JOBBIENOONER!!!!!!!

Milord 03-12-2002 02:29 PM

Well, why don't we make it mid-end of April for another meeting then and we can discuss some fun runs and whatever else. I will get some name tags this time and who knows, if we ask now maybe Jeffery will throw us some OSO swag. Does anyone have any suggestions for a date for an April gathering? What about a location, did everyone like the Tin Fish or do we want to try another place? There has to be a hundred within 20 miles of each other along the water.

MooseKnuckle 03-12-2002 02:48 PM

Milord,

What about the Beach Grill, people can attend by boat or auto. I would also suggest moving the time up to 1 or 2pm. That way people can get back to ramp/dock at a reasonable time.

How about April 20th or 27th?

Milord 03-12-2002 02:50 PM

96Vyper, that's a good idea as I'm sure if boat is splashed by then I will come by boat! Anybody else have any input on the date? Either of those sound good to me.

freckles 03-12-2002 02:50 PM

13th or 27th of April? Later may be better for people who want to come by boat.

We couldn't make it to the Tin Fish, but one thing I heard was there was more moving around there. At Gilberts, once we sat down and had beers in front of us, we didn't mingle much.

OSO stuff as door prizes??

Advantage_Rob 03-12-2002 02:59 PM

beach grill or jacks is a good place, but not much for a view of the water like tin fish. Tin fish is awesome for me cuz it's close to home for me, but inconvienient for some others, plus limited dockage, and if it's rough out, forget about bringing a boat, but if it is there, I can give an update to water conditions. It's usually flat, but anything over 1' gets tough to tie up to easily. Good point about the room to roam too. The Beach Grill is kind of snooty though, but I could care less, they have good dockage. I dont know if I'll be out that early in the season, I hate anything under 80 degrees.

Enticer Rick 03-12-2002 03:06 PM

What about Garwoods? Yeah Right:(

Interceptor 03-12-2002 03:55 PM

I missed last Saturday. A thing called work intervened ! We'll try to make the next get together.

ed

B.R.S. 03-12-2002 04:02 PM

Go back to Tin Fish. I agree that there was alot more mingling and meeting people because of lack of tables.

freckles 03-12-2002 04:05 PM

B.R.S., you never gave us your business card....

Whiteknuckle 03-12-2002 04:09 PM

Yeah Tin Fish is fine, alittle less restricted. The end of April sounds good, and good idea about the name tags. Maybe have board name and real name. I had a good time last Saturday and it will be interesting to see how peoples projects have progressed at the next meeting.:D

26scarab 03-12-2002 04:17 PM

I had a great time meeting everyone Saturday. Name
tags are a real good idea (I'm terrible at remembering names) I don't think I actually met everyone Sat.

I do have to admit the Tin Fish was a little nicer, it seemed easier to stay in a group. Maybe we can all get together next month.:D

tmager 03-14-2002 09:12 PM

Has anyone thought of putting together a web site and starting a boat club like this one http://hrpa.homestead.com/homepage.html
I'm no computer wizard, so I can't elect myself to start this.

Dawn and I will be at Kid Rock Sunday, also, 9th row, should be a riot. I have met him a couple of times and been backstage with him at Uncle Kracker's concert, hopefully we can sneak back at this concert. Dawn's the persuasive one she'll probably do it.:p :p

Bill272 03-14-2002 10:16 PM

Real Detroit magazine had a short interview with Kid Rock last week. They asked him what he was going to do for the show, and the one thing he said was "I can't stress enough how important it is to get there early""

ViciousOne 03-14-2002 11:05 PM

Rob, The Kid bought Dino's house! Remember Dino the one that chumped me out of 3500.00 on the 38' flat deck at steve and donna's!

cardshark 388 03-15-2002 07:37 PM

Would love another party. Was great meeting new people we can hopefully boat with this summer. Hey Freckles, still planning on Sarnia the day after Jobbie Nooner? I really enjoyed the Tin Fish.Rico, did they sell my house on the Clinton yet? Boat probably won't be in till First of May but looking forward to seeing everyone again.
Mrs. Cardshark

powerqrudy 03-15-2002 08:16 PM

Best Regards

Enticer Rick 03-16-2002 11:35 PM

Tom - Hopefully we'll see you at Kid Rock because I want to follow your wife to the backstage party!!! God I would hate to see Pam's boob job up close....

Mrs. Cardshark- Did you put your offer in on that house? I checked last Sunday and it's still awaiting your arrival! That is an awesome location on the Clinton River.

Rick (Rico)......

formula1 03-17-2002 04:14 PM

Sheuer10, whats the deal on the house on the Clinton River? My wifes still on my tail about moving to Detroit area...a nice house on navigable water just might be enough to push me over the edge!!!

By the way, WHEN does boating season start up there? I'm thinking about splashing SOON here in MD:D :D !! Can't wait!

Steve

Advantage_Rob 03-18-2002 09:08 AM

Viscious, I remember the boat, and all the work, and how great a job you did making it look like new. That's a shame!!! I keep gettin bites on the redline;) Now, about this Pam dancing thing, Ther would be a real money maker~!~! Come on guys, how much would you be willing to pay for one of the "GOOD" dances!!!

tmager 03-19-2002 05:04 PM

Rick, we made it to the concert, but didn't make it back stage, too many groupies in line and dealing with that **** in my 20's was OK, but now's I'm gettin' too old. My ears finally quit ringing today and damn those torches threw off some heat. We end up three rows from the end of the small stage upfront.

Budman 03-21-2002 09:44 AM

Heard on the radio this morning that Pamela has contracted Hepatitis C. Pretty serious stuff. Apparently, it is thought that she contracted it by sharing a tattoo needle with Tommy Lee. So goes the Hollywood lifestyle!

Milord 03-21-2002 09:51 AM

Ya, they had a "who's the hottest woman on the planet" on Howard Stern this morning. They said she would have won hands down for the 5th year in a row or something but with yesterday's announcement she didn't even get in the running! The were putting her up against Whoopi Goldberg. LMFAO!:D

I do feel sorry for her but she should have used her head. Who would have thought that Tommy might be a virus carrier!

FunHome 03-21-2002 12:03 PM

Tommy is saying that he doesn't have it!?!?
Makes you wonder where she got it?

I heard last night while we were eating at a nice Italian place that Kid rock and Pam were in there about 3 weeks ago with Hank Williams, Jr. and his son (I guess his son travels with Kid Rock) I heard that they partied until 5am! and had a bunch of people with them. This is pretty cool!! Since it was here in Kansas City!!
