Streched 32 I believe, but the 40 Hustler is probably one of the best single steps.

Tres Martin and I raced the Sony boat and won a really rough water Toronto race in 1999. The boat was slow (83.5) but a beast in the rough. And it turned pretty well too.

Just so you know, that Fountain was NOT a factory step hull.
It was the brain child of Jeff Haylett. Jeff worked long and hard to figure the correct placement of the step, and with the help of Tom from Tiger Fiberglass in Detroit it was cut in 95 or 96. And later, with the custom #5 standoff boxes it became lighting fast. You still had to give it respect in the corner. I'm proud to say I worked with Jeff and Deb for a lot of those years. And the only person besides Jeff to drive the boat in competition.

You beat me to it!! I think it was 97 or later on jeffs boat, I thought at the NH races at lake winni he had no steps from 95 and 96. harrys 37 ' OL had SINGLE STEP. it spun out on a GL race once but handled nice for the RIDE I HAD OFF OF CAPE COD 27 degrees outside , jumped the wake of the MV ferry at 90 plus:ernaehrung004: and just went through the waves nice that day that had 5s and boxes, MRD motors, Mike f did a nice job on his 1st boat. artie
