Default interesting thought or whacked idea??

if the merc 850 and the 1075 are the same motor with the exception of boost and mapping, what about the concept of a gear driven 2 speed blower and dual mapped computer?? flip a switch and go from an 850 to a 1075..doesn' seem like it would be that difficult to do............

Just pull the throttles back a little and you have 850 from the 1075's anytime you want.

Not really trying to be a smartazz, but sometimes I can be !! but in reality doing that will not save you any money, any fuel or save on rebuid time, both 850's and 1075's are around 100 -125 hours. So your idea may infact work, but I don't know the upside.
