You couldn’t have said it any better.
The bottom line is that there is an invisible hand that will push the manufacturing of any product and or service to where ever it needs to go depending on what the price the consumer will pay for it. Being in the consumer product industry I would love to never have to go to China three to four times a year but 95% of Americans don’t care where there food storage containers are made much less who makes there house. There is little to no value add in where something is made geographically.
Take a step back and look how the majority of the consumers in the US shop on a normal basis – do they shop by where something is made or the numbers after the dollar sign?

What Me Worry?
Yea! Thats the answer! Next time you need a performance boat with quality or parts or engines with the same GO TO WALMART! GOOD LUCK WHEN THAT HAPPENS.
After a few years or months in this new economy of ours maybe, just maybe most Americans will stop crying for something for almost like nothing, just like I buy at Walmart with my new unenmployment check or Obama bail out tax rebate check. We are not just sometimes stupid as a nation of consumers, we are pretty CHEAP to!!
You just don't get it! How we got here now and where it will take us if we continue with this mentality and lack of forsight!
I am not sure the majority of Americans will ever get it, the're to busy watching American Idol or Atlanta Housewies!
Best Regards

The closing of the plant here in Knoxville is going to hurt quite a few families. Alcoa Aluminum is also closing down two lines and that will eliminate about 450 jobs in the area as well.

I think any category killer (Walmart/ Home Depot/ Blockbuster/ Autonation) is bad for the surrounding businesses and if they choose to dabble in your business then you should close up soon (Walmart is the nations largest grocery business....wouldn't want to be in the grocery business when they move to town!). Home Depot destroyed the local hardware store, Blockbuster did it to the Mom/Pop video store, etc. Don't just rant on Walmart for low prices killing the competition because it is in every industry.

Yes, it is happening everywhere not just Detroit as some would think.
I hope you're not impacted.
