I've been watching the live feed at work...they interviewed one of the passengers that was in the plane and asked him what the landing was like and his response was, "..scary as $hit" and they didn't get to edit it.

Looks like everyone is OK though, pilot looks like he did everything he could to bring the plane down easy.

JohnnyMarshall 01-15-2009 03:41 PM

I just left there Sunday morning and it was cold as hell glad everyone is ok.

Roger 1 01-15-2009 03:44 PM

Looks like SEA TOW is trying to get a line on it.

Ryan Beckley 01-15-2009 03:47 PM

Fast Shafts 01-15-2009 03:54 PM

For those that don't realize it, the temp in NY is 19 degrees.! The water temp is in the mid 30's. Thank God everyone got out!!!

US Air is always coming up with new ways to lose your baggage.

Way to think outside the box.

Sitting here in the Tampa airport watching the feeds and reading about it. It appears as though all got out OK. God bless and well done to Emergency Response.

There was a picture on MSNbc.com briefly that showed them all standing on the wings in knee deep water.

They are all very lucky, and that pilot needs a damn medal.

USairways (east) hands down has the most experienced pilots in the industry. Doug

Pwrbt33 01-16-2009 07:24 AM

They should give the Pilot a $1,000,000 bonus and send him to on vacation for a month! He probably saved the company over $1,000,000,000 in law suits!

C_Spray 01-16-2009 07:27 AM

Newcasters all over are calling it a "lucky crash".

Bull$hit. It was a world-class emergency landing.

"Sullenberger" (the pilot) is a name to be remembered.

Here's a report that has it right:

"Hero Pilot, Air Force Vet Landed Plane Safely"

Here is his Facebook Page

I bet that had a helluva lot to do with it. Give that man a medal.

He couldn't have landed in a better spot, it seems- right there where the ferrys were... a mile or two down the river and the story might have been different.

I guess everyone is a little on edge after these incidents.... God Bless that Pilot though......he made all the right decisions and he made them fast......Kudos to him and his crew!!
