for what it's worth I was looking at a new concept 36 last weekend, somebody mentioned a back seat, after sitting in it, I think it's more for decoration, I wouldn't feel good about siting back there at speed. also the little v-birth seemed to be a an uncomfortable agle if you ever tried to sleep in it. I am 5'9 and could sit in the little cabin with a couple inches to spare. also the trim tabs on it looked like a kid in highschool shop class tried to turn some bennets into k-planes. they are sharp looking boats though..

Man there are alot of deals out there. This is NOT one of them! IMO. |
I'm suprised no one has brought up the main set back to Concepts...I've been told by several people they are not self bailing, as most CC's are. That could prove to be an issue during storage. Or not if you're storing it inside.
The concepts are really a great looking boat. They look fast just sitting still! |
email response from "seller"
Hi - thanks for your email. Bottom paint is simply where smart owners of boats that are docked for a period of time have a special protective 'removable' coating sprayed on the bottom to just above the water line to protect the bottom of the boat that is under water when docked. Going back a ways, this Cigarette was docked for a period and the bottom and the owners had an extra coating added to protect the bottom (you can see it as the blue coating in some pics). Once it was no longer being docked, but dry storage, the blue bottom paint coating was simply removed which the bottom returned to the solid white as you see in the photos. Hoping this answers the questions. If you have any others, please let us know. No question is too small. Really! Kate & Tom |
Tank is right on. Don't buy a CC that is not self bailing.

can't speak about the concept, but we original owner of 99 cafe open. originally had merc 250's but we rerigged in 06 with 275 vorado's. boat is a tank. crushes waves. nicely laid out. does 60 now, the boat is a pig with the 250's, so i am not sure i would consider one with those motors unless you plan on rerig. but detail and rigging are perfect.

Rio down to 89.9k buy it now, I didn't see the end of the last auction, how much did it get ? Still to much for a boat I feel needs 300-350 hp motors right away.
