67 Donzi Value?

My neighbor has a 67 Donzi 14ft.It has been sitting on a trailer unused for about 6 years.Has the origonal 4 cyl i/o set-up.Condition is pretty decent (needs TLC).He would sell it but wants me to throw out the first number.Anybody have any advice on a figure that I should shoot at him?Do these old boats have value?Might be a fun and unique toy. Ill try and get a pic posted soon.

Very cool, but it is really only worth what you want to spend on it?? The classic market on boats is not like on cars, I would throw him $500 if I was a Donzi dealer it would be cool to restore and have in teh show room.

Sold one recently for 3500.00...

Looking for another..

What is the cost to get it to the condition you want? What's it worth now? Investment or hobby?

Yes the common consensus is correct. It really depends on what it is worth to you and how much you are willing to put into it.. Even if you do the work yourself it still wont be cheap. ;) Jamie

If it has a pre alpha or a volvo style drive it might be worth much more than if it has the eaton powernaut drive IMO

The 14' was pretty rare and deadly the story was the handful that where built killed more than one owner ! I had one that we retroed with a 4.3 and a genII alpha it's floating around the saint clair flats some where.

DONZIEBRI 02-03-2009 06:34 AM

That was my exact plan,a 4.3 w/alpha,maybe some cool looking headers. How were they "deadly"?Would the added weight and 200 hp be dangerous?
