Default easy one

sounds like the msd box.... easy test....switch the boxes and see if the other motor cuts off....you could do the same with the coils.....its SO NICE to have twins.....good luck!!

Not so sure about the pickup...it is a possibility, as it does tell the coil to fire, but I've never personally heard of an intermitent problem with those... The fact that it starts back up and repeats says computer control mod inside msd box...

Try to wiggle the pink wire that comes off the Dist. to the coil . We just had to replace ours on the 42.

i agree, sounds like a bad box,but the pickup is cheap and easy to replace.i would change it anyway, then you eliminate the question of it being bad.

I hate to talk bad about a product, but over the years I've ran into WAY TOO MANY funny little problems with msd products. I'm talking problems that stump GOOD mechanics.. Mallory or for most cars atleast, the stock stuff supports around 500 hp.
