IRONMAN 02-08-2009 10:13 AM

Single 280 TRS or alpha style?

el indio 02-08-2009 10:41 AM

twin 280s trs. 30 year old survivor.

Smarty 02-08-2009 11:47 AM

$19K-$29K depending on condition, trailer, ect. I would think low $20K's would be a fair price.

Your PM description sounded like it needs a lot of work, hence the confusion.

Already been in contact with Jay and he'll get a call from a local that's offered to put eyes on it for a friend of mine. Looks like there's plenty of people working both sides. We'll see if we can save you some money. :D

ttt.

Mbam 02-09-2009 11:11 AM

Mark, you need that one !! Would make a nice spare.

Actually in general the new engines make more power, they are rated differantly. The 2 barrel 5.7 is rated at 250 propshaft HP, the old 260 was rated at the crank using a more optimistic correction standard/factor.

Looks to be priced right. I bought my 1976 28 Cigarette back in 1993(?) for $12,000. It had TRS, 350's, trailer, perfect interior, solid hull, and everything worked great mechanically. I bought it soley with the intention of redoing it.

Anybody know approx weight? NADA doesn't have info for Magnum but I found a Cig28SS shown at 4800lbs. Would that be without engines/drives?

el indio 02-09-2009 02:36 PM

4800 is about rite rigged in 1969. with mercs a little more 1977 a little stronger. 69 big power option was 302 h/m. with alumn exhaust. 2 barrel

Stormrider 02-09-2009 03:14 PM

Good looking boat. Love the classics

slpcamaross97 02-12-2009 03:34 PM

I would be all over that if it was a sport. price seem fair. but its been in salt for a long time.

Stormrider 06-01-2009 12:35 PM

mm, this still around?

jmackin 06-01-2009 05:49 PM

dont think so. I almost went to keywest w/ $6000 in my hand but his neighbor ended up buying it. One motor was seized and he later told me it was a train wreck.
