is merc 850 prop shaft hp or flywheel hp

As far as I know, all of Mercs engines are rated at the prop.

850 only comes with a dry six i believe

Yeah but people put them infront of shaft or anersons too....but i guess merc would be justified in using all their own stuff.

800sc. = 700 hspr at prop shaft. 800 is ft lbs of torque. 750 hspr at flywheel or crank. cya.

I read somewhere that anything made by Mercruiser that isn't black is flywheel hp.
Don't know if it's true or not.

I heard the opposite. Black is flywheel, blue is prop.
