I'm not sure where you obtained your information but The 30 Motion is an excellent rough water cat and depending on year can be purchased in the 50-80k range used.

im not knocking motions or spectres at all, i think moneywise with 300's and running 105mph+ they are the best boat for the money hands down. But, I think an older 32 skater or shadow cat will be a lot more comfortable ride when it gets a little nasty out.

Buy the older 32 Skater, there are some deals to be had on older models you will just have to put the time and or the $$.I asume you will be putting tripple outboards or inboard power? There was a sweet 32 for sale a while back with 700`s and #5 drives, I believe he wanted 56k. Good luck with your search.

32 Skater will be the best,30 Motion second, 30 Spectre also good choice, 30 Shadow not my list at all.
You need to go for a ride in a 30 Motion in the rough. Look at the boats that used to race a few years ago and currently run in SBI. A Skater for $50k will be very rough and need a lot of work. There are clean Motions near that price.

I have that Excalibur cat and I've been on a lot of cats and vee bottom thrips Chris cat and Excalibur cat which I have are an unbelievably stable and smooth ride in 2-3.5 choppy **** love the boat actually thinking about selling since I have a newborn I need a vee with a decent cabin

The Chris and Shadow will ride better in the rough than the others mentioned, but just won't be quite as fast.

There is a 30' Predator with 300's for sale on S&F. I think he is still at $63k, but maybe you could work on that a little. Same hull as an AMT.
