Herring Props

Has anyone dealt with Herring since they sold. I know they have an exchange program now and a one year warranty on their props. Their Offshore props for #6's are very comparable in cost to Merc CNC, not to mention they look great!

I have always heard great things about them but wanted to know if anyone had any recent experience since their new owner took over?

I have and they are awesome. They are much easier to get a hold of and have called me back and emailed me several times. (even while they were in Miami at the show !)Their props are incredible and their customer service is second to none.

x2 vote for the new Hering company. Customer service is exceptional, and the product is simply amazing.

Think their props are excellent but don't agree that their customer service is any better than before the purchase. They have had a forged prop of mine for almost a year now - in for a repair - and nothing from them except promises. For those of you that dealt with Hering in the past, this is exactly how it used to be.
Left a message with Scott Conrad yesterday. Will see if that helps.

I wonder what contributed to the cost reduction.

They returned my phone call promptly and were very helpful answering questions.

It's my understanding that it sold out and became more of a "production" type operation instead of a custom shop. I do think they kept the original owner for R&D.

I recently bought a set for a project I'm doing. The props were too small so they told me to send them back immediately. They do not have the correct size in stock so they are building a set. So far I am very pleased with the quick responses from them. Would not hesitate to use them again.

I actually store my boat at SC Performance Marine where Herring is located. They just put in 3 HUGE CNC machines that run nonstop making props. Scott said they are stocking up for the season so they have plenty of product on hand for quick turnaround. He also said they will be at most of the big events and poker runs this season.

Some Hering Stats from last week!

New M-35 DCB with twin Teague 1200’s on #6 drives ran in Havasu last week:

159 mph on Mercury 16.5 x 40 – 18 5-blades
162 mph on Hering 16.5 x 40 – 18 5-blades

Dave is working on a few other setup adjustments, and hopes to pull the 41’s into the upper 160mph range, possibly knocking at the 170mph mark.

36’ Skater (traditional deck) with Pfaff 1300’s running 169mph with 16.5 x 40 – 18 5-blades. Boat owner is changing his gear ratio, and smaller pulley’s, hoping to get in the mid-170mph range.

DCB F-32 with 700SCi’s w/ NXT’s is running:

135mph with Merc 16.5 x 38 – 18 5-blades
139.4mph with Hering 16.5 x 41 – 18 5-blades

Hering is going after the guy that wants unreal service, the best product and the guy who wants to be the FASTEST!

Hering - 1 Year Warranty, Right Prop Management "RPM" Program that allows an exchange on a new set if they were too small or too big!!!

Does Merc do that???? NO

Jeff hooked me up with free beer in Key West. What more could you ask for?
