who is a supplier of a deep purple uv protected carpet to re-place my old carpet? i've found marine carpet but the supplier tells me it isn't protected. i put it on my trailer and it faded pretty quick.

We've used matworks before also, and were happy with the results. They send you a pattern kit with papper - sharpie marker and carpet samples. You draw / cut your pattern paper of the floor the way you want the carpet and snaps to be, if any - send it to them they send it back all done , you just put the snaps in the floor to match theirs . We send our customers to them when they ask for a carpet source. , Jim www.matworks.com

Make sure you look in to the rubber backing that is used behind the carpet. I read a post from a while back that the backing used by one of the carpet companies mentioned here will deteriorate and crumble over time.

R&r textiles has the 40oz marine carpet that was used in a lot of factory boats, it comes glue down or with a vinly back for snap in. when I USED them we never used snaps the 40oz was heavy so it just laid there on the floor at 80mph:p. I stopped using them because they would sell to the public at the same price I would buy it for:eek::rolleyes:, since my families Co was high end custom rug sales and installations . it was no good, and the new rugs coming out later this year are 88oz and 110oz will blow away anything out there with custom fades which is impossible to do with machine rugs unless sprayed on:eek:, theres no binding to worry about fading or falling off. I plan on making a pirate skull or the baja old sun logo into a rug for cockpit and maybe tiger pattern going down below. all carved it won't be cheap but will be the best. just waiting to recop from surgery .
