Thinking of a Chaparrel

I am looking at a 1991 Chaparrel 2750 SX and was wondering if anyone has an opinion on them, good, bad, or otherwise. It has Twin 350 mags with alpha drives and looks to be in pretty good condition. Is there anything I should look for - flaws? How well do they perform?

I owned three of them

215XL 1987
2550 1988
2850 with 350 mag's 1993
Kept the last one for 5 years. Didn't have a problem with all three of them. Just kept moving up to a bigger boat. The 2850 will probably run about 55-56 mph. They are good solid boats.

so I guess the 2750 would likely crack 60mph?

My friend has one (early 90's) and it's been great. Very sturdy boats.

I had a 87 Villain III and a 89 Villain III and never had a minutes problem with either one. Both had single 350 magnum's with alpha drives.

I previously owned a 1999 2330 ssi, 2002 280ssi (twin 5.0) and currently have a 236 ssi. The Chapparel is a great value, well built and reliable. If its been cared for you won't go wrong.

I have an 84 215XLC , very well built for a 24 year old boat.

Thanks all, I am going to look at it again this week. I will have a hard time parting with the Powerquest though, it has been a great boat - if anything hold be back, it will be that.
