I really like the twin stepped hobie on sailtrader. It is one rad ragamuffin. And with one of those net bags trailing at 8 knots full of chardonnay and some cheese you have a day.
Looking forward to the kevlar hull hunter with the graphite mast. Real boating is freeboating.

It's a sailboat nation. Rock on. :D

Yes, but I heard an Island Packet with steps spun out last week in Cali and threw all occupants and their cheese out. Thank god they were wearing their LL Bean sweaters to keep them afloat

I don't like the cut of your jibs!

I heard over on Sailsuponly that they were way over-jibbed.
These maniacs are gonna be the end of our sport.

It will be nice when those new Sailtech billet sheet killers with lanyards come out. Swimming after your boat is a pain, even at 5 knots. Besides, if you fall out... a few days later the boat could hit something or run aground.

Where is Sydwayz regarding the lanyard problem? I hope the insurance companies don't hear about these steps

Dude! Sweet! 03-06-2009 10:27 AM

The steps aren't the problem! Everyone knows that if you do and up wind tack, you need to keep the main uncovered. I'm telling you thought, it's the winged keels that are the root of the problem. A lot of times a guy will tack and one of the wings will come off due to the hydrodynamic forces... When that happens watch your hailiars!!

I say sailor error. These guys go out there... trying to get that extra 4, 5/10ths of a knot and they run their main or even their spinnaker too tight and they heel over too far. Then they lose it. Sailor error.

Check this out. It's a Chris Craft, and Apache, AND A Sailboat.

The perfect vessel:http://www.sailboatlistings.com/view/10361
