Did Baja ever produce staggered engine 35 SST’s
There is a Local Baja 36 SST at the repo yard for sale with a Staggered engine set up. Was this a custom 1 off?
First one I seen, but than again I really have not been looking. |
I saw a thread on it somewhere. I think some peeps said it was a one off and that it made the cockpit very tight.

There's one in the 1998 model year brochure.

They built 2. One was initially a B class race boat and the other was for pleasure. It wasn’t really practical because the cockpit area was pretty much non existent from the motor being moved forward about 3 feet. My father is the person that engineered that set up. He worked there in hull development from 96-99. He also engineered the one and only step bottom Baja which was a 42 twin step bottom boat. Big heavy thing, 14,000 pounds, with triple 800’s that ran 107 on its best day.
