Self Portrait at 148mph

Hey guys - I just had to share this great pic:

This is a picture that the late Unlimited driver Bill Muncey snapped of himself -- while running 148mph! Can you imagine????? LOL!

Hmm.. I can't seem to get the image code to work. It says "OFF". Does anyone know how I turn it on?

A the time, I think he was in the Atlas Van Lines Unlimited Hydroplane. "The Blue Blaster"

Thank's for the info BK, Bill Muncey was kind of a hero to me growing up. I'd never seen this info. Here is the link to the rest of the article. Hallowed Hydros

Wasn't that the Slo-Mo IV he was driving?

I can't really tell what year that picture was taken. He also drove the Miss Thriftway, Notre Dame and Such Crust, but without knowing the year - it's hard to tell. The white driving suit reminds me of the Atlas suit though.

He was a hero of mine too -- believe it or not, he drove a Glastron at the Havasu Classic in the late 70's and I got a chance to see him up close.

His articles in Powerboat magazine were my favorites too - pretty funny sometimes - I still have quite a few of those issues and read them now and then.

Doesn't matter, it's still cool. I should try that. No wait, I don't think the Cafe Racer will hit 148.....hmmmmm...I think I'm gonna need some bigger engines...:D

Thanks again BK.

Thanks for posting the pic for me, Jim. Someday I'm going to learn how to do that. ;)
