Were they were both bored and then the cracks were found? or was one was bored, the crack was found, and then the other one was also found cracked? Your machinist is pretty clear what he thinks (they were both bored before finding the cracks) based on his email. If he is as honest as you say, and I would believe based on the other guys that he is, then his word must be good and they were bored before the cracks being found. I'd say that it is probably time to save face, admit that you should have at least done a little bit of due diligence before purchase. Find some used blocks (and have them maganafluxed), switch some parts, and get on the water. You have drug a good mans name through the dirt long enough. Hmmmmmmm, I wonder what role Pete, the machinest and the 4th person on your side (you, mario, engine builder, Pete) to see the blocks before the cracks were found, played in this? He was the one and only person in this entire delema that did any work whatsoever to the blocks before the cracks were found. I wonder if Pete got a little overzealous with the boring tools? |

The crack thing is what throws a wrench in the gears for me.....wear and deterioation will give a crack that runs with the cylinder (up & down).....the fact that it is cracked around the circumfrence of the cylinder throws up a major red flag.....so back to my statement about when were the cracks found and it seems to be that from tango 36 quotes of empires posts that we have the answer which is NO DUE DILIGENCE really leaves NO RECOURSE.....

EMPIRE0007,this is my .02 cents on this.[1] you did buy USED ENGINES at a cheap price.[2]we don,t have all the facts on who did what with them after you got them.[3] if in fact the blocks are cracked,why was their no water or watermarks in the cylinder?the red in the cylinder is a step in dy checking for cracks,the red does not indicate a crack,if you ever used the product,you would know this,in one of your posts you said you don,t know what you are looking at.[4]it does not matter if he spent the money after you paid him,IT IS HIS MONEY.[5].mr brosovich has been in buisness for a long time,so i don,t think your threat of a lawsuit worries him,but probibally angerd him,[just for the record,i don,t know mr brosovich].if the blocks are junk,don,t buy used up ones to replace,get new ones,have your guy put the engines back togerther,you will still have way less money in the engines than they are worth.like i said,just my .02 cents worth.:party-smiley-004:
