Yup, mercruiserparts.com is the place to shop. I am the member Formula31 spoke of that Marc at BAM just lent his gear case thread chaser to. Sent it to me no questions asked. I would have been screwed without it. Has been helping me practically daily (I think I starting to annoy him) to get it right, and has tons of practical experience he has been willing to share with me. Best "value added" parts house I've found.

Go to a place like bearings inc they can cross most of the bearings and ujoints. there was only one bearing we could not get for a trs and they were a lot cheaper.
