Serious question - what does it cost to sponsor a race boat?

I am in commercial roofing and am a Project Manager/Estimator. My compensation is commission based. I approached the owner about wrapping my boat and helping out on poker runs and now a couple POBRA races. They paid for the wrap ($3200), gas in my tow truck, gas for the boat, hotel and food & drinks. Doing the poker runs allow me to take our good customers out for a ride. The wrap looks great and really updates the boat. If I get any business from the exposure it puts $ in my pocket too.
Unfortunately, with the current economy $ is tighter now we may not be able to do it this year. I am going to talk to my tax guy to see if I can deduct the poker run / race expenses. I'm still going to do the runs and might get the owner to kick in some $'s. If I can close just one job from the exposure it would be worth it.
