454 intakes

I was wondering what a good all around dual plane (oval port)intake is for a 454? I have all the normal upgrades including head work by Jim V. 049 head castings and am going to stay with a flat tappet cam. Cam will be similar to a 465 HP cam. Comp. 9.5 to 1.

I already purchased a couple of Eldlebrock Performers however I read some posts from years ago talking about the Edlebrock RPM - Airgaps that claim to be much better. Will prop to run at 5,300 to 5,400. I'll send the Performers back if need be.

Thanks for your help.

John

The intakes I already bought are the #2161
The Air Gaps I was thinking of changing to are #7561

The concern I have is the Air Gap is advertised to fit the large oval port heads which are larger than the 049's chevy casting intake ports I'm pretty sure. Any knowledge on this. My heads are what I would consider to be a standard oval port not the peanut port.

Thanks again for the help.
