On Board Camera Systems
Been looking around for a system and found a bunch of cameras that are simply mounted like GoPro and so forth...
The only thorough system with multiple cameras I have found that sort of fits the bill is this;
Does anyone have similar systems?
http://www.edgecameras.com/rallycam4100.html
The "RallyCam 4000" is a complete Video Processor system designed to show two, three, or four pictures when recording, and draws power directly from the vehicle battery via the included 12volt accessory plug, or through hard wiring (using the hard-wire instruction card). This system can last approximately 30 hours with a 16 gig SD card (with DVR in "WEB" mode). The system is built inside a crushproof, waterproof 8.81"x 5.18"x 3.08" (22.39x 13.14x 7.83cm) container for Motorsports and Mobile applications. It includes four 520 TV line color bullet cameras that connect to the side of box and one power cable that connects from the box to the vehicle power. We include two audio options, an external mic or an RCA cable for you to attach your intercom directly into the box. This allows you to record your intercom directly onto the video. The system includes a DVR that will also show in PIP (picture-in-picture) and allows you to record at 720x480 resolution at 30fps. This system records in ASF format.
This system Includes:
* 4 520 TV Line Cameras with 3 foot / 1 meter cables
* DVR (720x480 at 30fps)
* RCA Audio Cable to plug into Intercom System
* External Microphone
* 4 Gig SD Memory Card
* 4 Mounts of choice
* 4 small coupling arms for mounting
* DVR charger
* USB Download Cable
* 12 Volt accessory plug
* Remote Control
* ArcSoft Editing Software (for PC use)
Does anyone have other similar systems?

Have you talked to Jeff at Freeze Frame? He can probably help more then anyone. The resolution on the cameras that you linked to is not that great but will get the job done. For tech info the site kind of sucks but they are claiming 30 fps (frames per second) that is likely divided by the 4 cameras if you go that way. So if you use all 4 camera ports then you are only going to get 7.5 fps. So if you want good video that is not jerky then you will want to run no more then 2 camera's off the unit. That is the bigest cost when we get into larger survalance systems for comercial and larger houses is just dealing with all the information that comes into the system from the camera's. The system does look nice and well thought out I would just find out if the 30fps is each camera or total.
If you want I can make some calls Monday and see what I can find out for you.

POV.1 is the best on the market - used by the special forces and SWAT. Small, durable and waterproof.

ATX those look good but it seems that they only have the ability for one camera. They also seem very limited to the size of the SD card?

GL if the first unit you showed only has 7.5fps when it is running 4 camera's you may be better off going with this. I have seen the image off this unit and it is very good. Only 2 camera's however.
