Anybody going next weekend or has anyone ever been? Got a buddy flying down to run a boat and just wondering about the place.

Theres a poker run next weekend, the million dollar run. My buddy was just wondering about the event, whats the place like, the weather, just some general knowledge of what he is in for :cool:

I ran the boat that he is going to run it's a 105+ open cockpit boat so it's fast. The water gets REAL rough on the out side if they run the same course. The place is really nice and the weather should be awesome. The race is a major happening there and a good time. If I wasn't going to Dubai I would be going to the Caymans for it. Its kind of a race / poker run in one......

I just returned from the Caymans. The weather was great but the winds was really doing a number out in the ocean. I met Phillip that owns the Smoking Aces boat. Very nice gentlemen. If you would like his number send me a p.m. and I will get you to in contact. He is a local and has done the run before.Once again the island is nice the people are great. One thing you might want to do is change your money at the airport. You will get a better rate for your american money. Its very expensive there . Hotels ,food ,and clubbing. there's some good info on the site www.mdr.ky. The boat Dennis will be running is my old Spectre which is at the beginning of the video. Weather should be great that weekend with 1-1.5' on the inside leg and 5'-8' on the outside leg. Dennis will be running in the Circuit Class which does 55 miles on the inside while I do the Offshore Class which does 30 miles on the inside and 25 on the outside.

If any of you fellas are interested in a good time next year and have fast boats let me know......I've been looking for an excuse to bring Purgatory down!
