I own a jetski business in Delaware, I must say things are better then last year right now?, gas price's last year really started alot of the mess we are in right now. Sales of units, and parts are good, but service work is way up right now!!. People are going to play no matter what happens. The news just like to paint a doom and gloom picture for everyone!! That does not help the industry! I feel the biggest part of High performance boat sale's problems right now are the bank's!!!

Quite a few banks would take an opposing view in light of some failed loans.
Classic chicken -and-egg scenario.

I think we all need to work together on a lot of these items. Banks need to be a little looser with the cash , Boat sales need to be realistic with the times, Consumers need to buy a deal not wait until a Short sale or foreclosure.
Most banks are backwards in the boat as soon as the consumer picks it up. The dealers are wanting TOP dollar to help there economic times, Consumers are seeing them go down in a ball of flames and waits for the " Going out of business DEALS"
It won't get better until WE ALL work to improve it!!
Just my .02

I think late 80's early 90's was worse
If you look at what most used boats are selling for and the amount of reps. The boats had bigger discounts and there were more repos then. I will say there is a much greater number of performance boaters now. I did score a SACS 680 rib on the cheap but it was a trade in with a tender specialty dealer.

So how was it building the Hoover Dam young man?????
I have been in this industry or a related industry since the 70's when I was a wee toddler with my family and I dont remember anything of this magnatude....Luxury tax hurt for a bit....when the iron ore mines shut down or cut back.....that hurt our particular area.....I remember the end of the Carter era was a bit bumpy.....Reagonomics came into play......but for the most part it has been pretty damn good even with the fall of all the cartels!!!!!

Was that before or after you built the Pyramids?
Way to many people listen and believe the medias and they are f@cking doom and gloom...
I mean if you listen to these clowns the next move is a gun in your mouth after voting for a democrat soup kitchen lawyer.
...unfortunately they would outlaw the gun!
Anyway...Go out run at 100mph wheel and deal and try to eek out a living in-spite of these azsholes!
That's my cheer for the day...

i make an 18 commerical fishing boat for less then 20 rigged. boat is well built and still they are a hard sell. everyone is spending less. Lots of fiberglass repair work. people want to have fun and they are digging out the old to do it. parts and repair business will do well new sales not so much even on the high end fast pieces
