so for sure it would spin backwards without question? if the motor says LH and the prop says RH you will go backwards in forward.
this is what i was thinking, but im not sure if its correct. so u say yes.

Forward would be reverse....reverse would be forward. TRUST ME!! I've done it.

On alot of shift mechanisms it can be flip-flopped just like JaayTee said. It therefore doesnt really matter what the respective rotations are in many instances, just how it is set up to shift. For instance, I once had a single engine cat that
I was trying props on. I tried at least one that was opposite the rotation of my drive. Prop was tested with shifter in reverse position. If I had liked that prop I could have ordered the same prop in reverse rotation or switched how my cables shifted. When a boat owner with twins try's "spinning them in" or "spinning them out" thay are going through this same process. They are swapping the props from one side to the other and changing how the boat shifts.

If we're talking sterndrives, the engines all turn
l/h.....that's not an issue.
If it's a transmission boat TRS, NXT, SSM, the drive determines the rotation.
If it's a Bravo, the shift cable position at the shifter at the
helm determines the rotation.
If installed incorrectly on a transmission boat,
transmission damage can occur, and the shifter will
operate backwards.
If installed on a bravo, with the shifter set up for r/h rotation
it will go forward when the shifter is in forward
If installed on a bravo with the shifter set up for l/h rotation,
it will travel in reverse in the forward shifter position.

This happened on my Dads Checkmate. He thought he would use a prop from his 81 Checkmate on his 98 'mate and apparently the shafts spun opposite. We went backwards when we tried to go forwards.

i was confused and speaking with a friend. my motor in my boat says lh rotation. he said that meens my prop is wrong and i should have a lh rotation prop thats why im hitting the limiter. i begged to differ and said it must be lh rotation motor with rh rotation drive Bravo1x. because if it was lh and i put a rh prop on it i would go backwards. he saw it diffrent then me.
you guys firmed me up that i was right. theres no way it will run with a rh prop if its lh rotation. so my prop is correct.
