CRANE CAMS COMMITTED TO SALE OF ASSETS AND APRIL 22 AUCTION DATE

Daytona Beach, FL – Crane Cams announced that it has retained LiquiTec, an industrial auction firm, to conduct a public auction of the company’s assets on April 22. Liquitec is also working to sell the assets before the auction date.

Crane, a well-established manufacturer of high-performance valve-train and ignition components, closed its doors in late February and is winding up its business and affairs after 56 years.

Crane has no agreement to sell its assets to Scorpion Performance, nor has it received any offer of any kind from Scorpion. Moreover, Crane has no reason to believe that any transaction will occur with Scorpion. Additionally, all negotiations for the sale of assets are conducted through LiquiTec.

Crane continues to be committed to its scheduled auction date of April 22, and is entertaining as many interested buyers as possible. Potential buyers may obtain information about the auction under the heading “Active Liquidations” at LiquiTec’s website, www.liquitec.net.

I got that also, the e-mail address they used is the one I opened specifically for the boat forums, I wonder which one is selling their lists now?

This is BAD news. I was talking with my engine builder the other day about this, and he told me the real bad part about Crane going out of business is the fact that they were the largest supplier of blank cam cores to just about every cam grinder. This will problem make getting a cam from anyone a problem in the near future.
