If you read my thread in the fountain forum, you will see that it's just an idea.

I will do the boat, but if twins won't work, I'll do a single.

Why do twins? It will be crazy hard to work on the motors with them that close together or anything in the bilge.

Why not do a big power single and tough drive?

Well hell Ray, you build a nice 750. Paul Pfaff, Tyler Crockett, Ron Potter(800), Ilmor's new 725, Teague(Bob and Gary), Tommy Hofstetter, Keith Eickert and I'm sure I've missed some good ones.

Pfaff may be the only one on that list who does stress-relief shaking, that's a plus for me.

If the beam is 8'6" he'll have room for twin SBCs but would it be too tail-heavy?

One of Raylar's 550 smallblocks would be cool. Doug

There is a reason that Reggie never put twins in the 27. Look at the 29 with twins....the swim platform is almost level with the water. There is just simply too much weight at the back end for a 27. With that said, i do love the look of a really low lying Fountain. I would go with a single big block pushing around 600hp or so. I've never seen a single screw Ilmor Fountain so that would be a very unique and cool boat. Just my opinion though, i would love to see some pics as you work on it.
